Patrick tells, that he was quite a pampered kid, and his childhood was rather happy until the moment of his parents’ divorce. After that, he resided with his mother in Glenview, IL and missed his dad so much.

Patricia earned her living as an accountant. She joined her work with taking care of three kids. As the ex-wife of a musician, she knew, that her son’s passion for music was real, and she supported him in it. But when her son missed a semester in college to pay with just-made “Fall Out Boy”, she asked him to find a regular job. Instead of it, on the 6th of May in 2003, he released his first song.

Now Patricia Stumph, whose maiden name is Vaughn, is extremely proud of her son!

Music is in Patrick’s genes, and he inherited his incredible love to it from his father. David Stumph is a unique person. In his youth, he served in Vietnam and then was a frontline protestor. During the years of service, he met Rich Raitano, with whom they founded the folk band “Uncle Barnaby”. After that music was the most, but not the only, important thing in his life. He studied healthcare administration at DePaul University. Then David got married and fathered three kids, one of which is our hero – Patrick. David made a successful career of a business administrator, and he joined it with writing songs and making music. As Uncle Barnaby member, he gained popularity throughout Chicago.

After his divorce to Patricia Vaughn, David remained close with his kids and served as an inspiration for his son – Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick.

Patrick is closely-knitted with his older sister, whose birth name is Megan Marie Stumph. She works as a product manager. Since September 2013 she is married to James Auler. They live in Chicago, IL.

Kevin Stumph (older brother)

Patrick’s older brother is a musician, too. He is a violinist. Kevin and Patrick have busy schedules, but they stay connected and communicate as much as possible. Currently, Kevin lives in San Ramon, CA.

Patrick Martin Stump is an American singer, songwriter, musician and composer born on April 27, 1984, in Evanston, Illinois. He is best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Fall Out Boy, which formed in the Chicago area in 2001.

During Fall Out Boy’s hiatus, Stump released the solo album “Soul Punk” and worked as a producer and composer. The band returned in 2013 and later released albums including “American Beauty/American Psycho,” “Mania” and “So Much (for) Stardust” in 2023. Stump also writes, composes and performs music for Marvel’s preschool animated series “Spidey and His Amazing Friends.” He married Elisa Yao on September 29, 2012, and they have two sons, Declan and Antero.
