Lil Xan is the stage name of American rapper Nicholas Diego Leanos, born September 6, 1996, in Redlands, California. He began by posting music to SoundCloud and broke through with the 2017 single “Betrayed,” which addressed his experience with prescription-drug addiction. His debut studio album, “Total Xanarchy,” reached the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in 2018.
Leanos has spoken publicly about addiction, rehabilitation and anxiety and has used his platform to discourage misuse of Xanax. His later releases have included singles and collaborations outside the peak of the SoundCloud-rap era.
