Jim Toth is an American former talent agent and media executive who was married to actress and producer Reese Witherspoon from 2011 to 2023.
James Joseph Toth spent his early years in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He later changed address several times, resided in Santa Monica, CA and some other cities. He has kept his residence and personal life largely private since the divorce.
Mr. Toth is well-educated. He studied political science in college. He built his career at Creative Artists Agency, rising from the mailroom to become a talent agent. He later left CAA and worked as an executive at the short-form streaming company Quibi.
He met Reese at one of the parties, and it took him some time to capture her heart, because after her unhappy marriage and unsuccessful relationship with Ryan Phillippe and Jake Gyllenhaal she couldn’t trust him. But then the actress melted and fell in love with the reliable and incredibly tall man (he is 32 cm taller than his wife).
They tied the knot at a ranch in Ojai, California in 2011. A year later the actress and the agent gave birth to a son.
In March 2023, Toth and Witherspoon announced their decision to divorce. The divorce was finalized in August 2023, with both emphasizing co-parenting and their son’s privacy.
