They say, behind each sensation, there are supportive people. In the case of Dua, these people are her parents. The name of her father is Dukagjin Lipa. He was born and raised in Kosovo but had to leave his home country because of the political situation. Having moved away from Kosovo, he had to discontinue his studying – the man was passing the training as a dentist. Dukagjin’s father headed the Institute of History in Kosovo in the early 1990s. His father taught him to love and understand art.

Dua inherited her passion for music from her daddy. He was an amateur rock singer and performed with the band “Oda”. As of 2020, he serves as the head of “Republika Communications Agency”.

Dua Lipa was blessed with a great mother, who looks like her older sister. Anesa is not a celebrity, but her face has already become familiar to the wide circle of people because sometimes she accompanies her daughter to various ceremonies and public events. With her husband, she launched and developed the “Sunny Hill Festival” in Kosovo. She still loves her home country, where she had worked as a lawyer before leaving it. She was born in London, where her parents came from their native Kosovo in the early 1990s, thus having saved their family from the hard political situation there. Dua Lipa got the Kosovo Albanian name, which means “I love” in her mother tongue.

She started her career in the music industry, like many other people of her age – through social media. The girl recorded covers on the songs of celebrities Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado. At the age of 15, she had already made an important decision – to become a professional singer. But the girl’s parents didn’t have enough money to support her ambitious dreams, that’s why she started the career of a model. Very soon Dua Lipa earned the love and respect of London’s reputable fashion designers and starred at the catwalk.

But music was her main aim, she had never forgotten about it. She continued to upload her music experiments on YouTube, and one day it paid off – Dua Lipa was noticed by Warner Music scouts and was signed by the famous recording company.

She released her first single “New Love”, which gained modest popularity, and immediately threw another hit – “Be the One”. Thus, her way on top began. “Vogue” magazine named her “the new pop princess” and fashion issues compared her with Monica Bellucci.

Her third studio album, “Radical Optimism”, was released in 2024. She supported it with an international tour and continued working across music, fashion and film.
