Nirmala (mother)

This was the main reason Nirmala decided not to teach Naveen an Indian language. In his interviews, Naveen blames his tendency of finding much older women on his imperfect relationship with his mother. Nirmala died in the 1990s still bitter with her son.

Stanley Andrews (father)
Stanley, similarly to his wife Nirmala, was a Malayali Nasrani immigrant. He used to be a businessman who had to work on a railway station at the new place. The life of his family was not an easy one, but they remained conservative. Naveen recalls having a lot of conflicts with both of his parents and them being openly aggressive.
